It wasn’t until about halfway through the map that I realized there was an objective, only because I was clicking around the islands to see what options there were. Up until that point it felt pretty pointless, like buying and selling cookies always at the same price everywhere I went. Finally started to see a little variety and then I won. I guess my goal was to get to the end with as much money as possible?
I think using visibility/readability of things as a challenge is a valid choice but it’s not the best accessibility wise. I did really like the art! It felt weird that there wasn’t any reward whatsoever for beating pirates or pleasing the siren, except “not losing” I guess. They could have both used some sort of visual and/or audio feedback that you succeeded in doing the thing you needed to do for them. It was unclear to me if crew morale mattered except as a “either you have it or you lose” type of thing, but I have to admit I frequently ignored their pleas and only fed them when I thought they absolutely needed it. Maybe I’m a cruel, cruel captain 😥
Anyway, nice work overall! Just wish there had been a bit more clarity and variety with what’s going on in the game.
