This game was great! Maybe I'm just bad at directions, but I got so lost after I left the original room to try to find some more ingredients. The music really set the tone and the monster was well-designed.

I really love horror games (as long as I'm not the one playing it) so I do have a few tips based on my experiences. Sound cues go a really long way. This would just be to help make it easier for the player to tell when the monster is nearby, instead of just turning the corner and it suddenly being there. The sound cue doesn't have to be obvious, but definitely there. Even just footsteps do the trick.  Also, I think the map would benefit a lot from being smaller. Not only does it make it harder for the player to get lost, but it also adds to the fear of being cooped up with a monster. Although, if you were to do that, you'd probably have to add sprinting and hiding spots as well.

Otherwise, this game was pretty great! Good job!

Thank you for playing! This is really great advice for future development! As the sound designer, I had created sounds for the monsters footsteps, but they weren’t being implemented properly, and we ran out of time to test it well enough, so I just decided to remove them. Such is the way of the jam. 🤷‍♂️

Totally understandable! There’s only so much you can do in a 1 week time period.
