WOW. What I thought would just be some quick nightly gaming before bed turned into me staying up all night, replaying it multiple times and consuming every bit of dialogue and lore I could get my hands on (totally worth it). That’s just how good it was!!
What really stood out to me is that rather than just telling a story, you created a really immersive world that I felt like I was dropped into as the player. The point-and-click mechanics did a really good job of solidifying that, and the game felt really dimensional and expansive, the tiny unspoken visual details really added a lot too! As a gamedev, that really inspired me a ton. :D
I LOVE this B/W aesthetic with the red accents!! I was also super impressed at how cohesive it all was, which made the jumpscares even more unexpected heheh (ngl one of them creeped me out because I was playing at like 3am in the dark LOL😂😂) I also love the range of sprite poses and expressions, Biker Boy’s emotes behind the helmet were really cute. So much delicious art aaaaa
The dialogue and narrative aspects were also so, so good!! The dialogue was witty and flowed well, and some of the internal monologue was so poetic I was like DAMN. It was really interesting to play through the eyes of the MC, I really liked how her inner thoughts reflected the visual colorless and dreary lens she wears, combined with the ambient noise really creates this distinct atmosphere of psychological discomfort. It definitely made me curious about her past, especially during the flashbacks where the world still had color. I’m also really curious what went down between her and Amelia! 👀👀
I also really enjoyed how fleshed out the love interests are!! Lane first came off as kind of a contradictory person to me, but it made more sense the more he showed pieces of vulnerability to the MC. Behind the difficult, flirty demeanor and bravado, he got some huge walls up LOL. And maybe he wants to have a deeper connection, but he doesn’t know how (or doesn’t think he deserves it). I also encountered more jump-scares and tense moments when MC spends more time with him as opposed to Biker Boy, so that also made me curious 👀 Biker Boy himself was so sweet to MC in their own interactions that I was honestly surprised at how explosive his anger and possession was during one of his conflicts with Lane. Things like that make me really interested to learn more about this mysterious guy aaaa. I really enjoyed how kind and considerate he is to MC, and I found him really endearing!! Although there’s definitely some red flags, I feel like he has her best interests in mind. 😂
I’m insanely curious to see how this unfolds in future updates, I could go on but I’ll stop here LOL. This game is a treasure and you are an inspiration, congrats on the update and I wish you the best of luck with development!! ❤️❤️
