By the looks of it probably not. And seeing as android is about to ban sideloading/downloadable apps not authorized by Google, I'd say we may never see an updated android release.
Not entirely sure, but I do know for a fact that they intend a full blanket ban, basically forcing you to pay Google and/or Samsung for a license to make games for Android.
Like sideloading was the entire reason I bought an android, now they are downgrading to iPhone territory.
