Oh I wouldn't do the book puzzle at that point, it should only be the push button. The secret ending is somewhere before then.
Yeah, I'm just letting you know because it's weird that the pendulum gets frozen for the first two button mashes, but then it works for the third button mash, which enable the puzzle.
