So.... I REALLLLLLYYYYYY liked this game.

  • The art is absolutely beautiful. The visual aesthetic from the story book to the enemies and in-game elements all fit really well.
  • The story-telling and narration are amazing. You becoming the new Mad Hatter is crazy cool (I don't know if that's a thing in other Alice in Wonderland lore).
  • The Cheshire cat in the corner was extremely creative.

The gameplay was so much fun so I would love to provide some feedback. I only write this because I enjoyed it so much and rated it very highly, so these are solely for possible improvements that you may already be considering.

Sanity > Health + Shield

I typically found myself more worried about Sanity meter than Health Defense stats. It seems that once you're out of sanity, there's not many options left.

I wonder if you can add a mechanic to replenish Sanity at the cost of health, defense, or nerfing yourself.

Example: (Since a cursed biscuit probably can't give you sanity)
Sips Tea : +5 Sanity. Take 10% more damage

OR you can just the current Sanity cost, lol.

Edit Heal Descriptions

Keep "Heal 2" and remove the words "Damage", which can be confusing when compared to other biscuits (Digestive Biscuit vs Macaroon

Wow, thank you so much for the amazing feedback! We’re really happy you enjoyed the art, story, and the whole Mad Hatter twist (we put 4 endings and this is the insanity ending). The Cheshire cat was kind of a last-minute idea, so it’s great to hear you liked it! And honestly, we really appreciate the suggestions, it means a lot since you enjoyed the game so much. And thanks also for the feedback on the cards! Basically, we redid their look at the very last minute to make them easier to read and understand. What you mentioned is definitely an oversight, and I’ll fix it ^^
p.s. for the sanity mecanics we had a some idea to balance, Also thanks to some of the feedback you guys gave us.
again really thank you <3

Of course! It was super fun, and easily one of the best game jam games I played. So great work! Hope you guys continue with it, or create something similar in the future.

And if you or anyone on your team gets a chance, please feel free to check out our game 🫶🏼 We'd love some honest feedback, and we're just a few reviews shy of 20.

Anyway, best of luck on the jam! And if you continue with the game in the future, let me know and I'd love to playtest more.
