Regarding the issue you're experiencing, I'd honestly never noticed it because I don't own a real C64. However, using VICE in windowed mode rather than full-screen, I see that the virtual drive light is indeed blinking as you describe. However, this doesn't seem to happen again once you get a top score and save the file. I'm afraid the same thing happens with all my other games. I hope it's not a big problem for you. I'll try to figure out what's happening in the future. In the meantime, thanks for reporting it.
