I had a good time with this. I have one suggestion: maybe you add new control that player use WASD to move around and ship will rotate and look at the mouse position, left click for shooting then it could be more easy to maneuver and shooting around
Having a different type of controls might be a good solution as there are a lot of people actually struggling xd
