a lot of things just dont seem to actually work, like the "choose count" upgrade which presumably gives me an extra spell every time i get one (as in upgrade it for 2 spells per milestone boss), but it dosent. on top of that, whatever you did with your last update seems to have broken spell gains in general as now i only get a choice every 2nd milestone boss.

Oof, thanks for the report. The update probably broke a few things. 

The Sleep Choose Count Upgrade only affects how many spells you can pick when you do a sleep upgrade and carries over between runs. The upgrade itself determines your sleep choose count at the start of every new run, so you should expect your choose count to equal your sleep choose count level.

Milestone bosses are separate. You normally get 1 spell choose count per milestone boss, and the sleep choose count does not increase that. When you pick a spell, any leftover sleep choose count is used first. The bonus comes from unused milestone boss choose count if you carry it over, not from the sleep choose count.

As for the first milestone boss not giving a spell choose count, I observed this too and will fix it in the next update.

in that case its definitely not working, if im understanding this correctly. the "sleep choose count" is supposed to give me a free spell upon prestiging, yes? as in i hit sleep, then immediately am presented with X number of new spell choices? if so it dosent seem to be doing that, or anything for me.

Sleep Choose Count is how many spells you can pick and keep when choosing a spell.
Spell Reward Shown is a separate upgrade that affects how many spells you see as choices.

They’re two different upgrades.

Also, I just pushed a hotfix,  it should fix the missing choose count from milestone boss and reworked auras so they’re more direct and visible with popups.

it looks like everything is working more or less now. i figured out what the problem was (on my end) with the choose count upgrade, which was that i had to select the spell menu manually when i have no milestone spells queued up. i like what youre doing here, i too enjoyed idle superpowers. so i hope you keep at it. ill certainly be pushing my dude further to try and help identify bugs that need ironing out, and once you move onto balancing ive got tons of advice. but dont bother with balance right now, just worry about filling the game with as much stuff as you want it to have and making what you can work as best as you can.

 

 one thing i would suggest however, is using a larger canvas size. you are severely limiting what can be displayed by defaulting to such a tiny resolution, im assuming its something like 720 or lower. better to scale a larger resolution down then blow a small resolution up.

Glad you like how the game is coming along! It’s rare to find someone who gets that I have to prioritize core stuff over constant balancing, so I really appreciate that.

As for the larger canvas size, I’ll definitely work on it. I was experimenting a bit, right now when I go full screen there’s just a bit of gray at the bottom, which I think is better than before when full screen wouldn’t even work.

Also, a heads up: I broke the export/import save system in this update (sorry about that), so don’t forget to do a manual save often if you want to keep your progress.  Exported another version for windows that let's you do import/export of savefiles.
