yea, it can be long and difficult sometimes (And have slow progression). I have been working on a new update coming out in ~1 week where all the upgrades are much cheaper, and I added a lot of new content! (which also even involves a new currency!).

at the moment I'm not really thinking about adding checkpoints anywhere, but that would be a cool upgrade to add later. The hard thing with saving/checkpoints in this game is that it could remove the challenge with just being able to go to the last save.

I haven't worked with save files and stuffs yet so it would be challenging, but I could definitely try it!

I thought, maybe add checkpoints in the sense of certain upgrades, if you buy them, you create a savepoint .

like literal upgrades, in between that cost nothing but you have to buy at some point to reach other upgrades.

and  somehow save what upgrades you have already bought including their "purchase level" (like 1/3 or such)

That's how I was thinking of adding saving. In the update I'm working on I did make the game shorter (Much cheaper upgrades so faster progression) whilst adding more content (I was able to beat the game on normal in 13 minutes). I'll look into how to do save files today, and probably add saving (or just see how it blends with the gameplay) soon!
