Huge enjoyer of Catherine (certainly my favorite puzzle game I’ve played), so couldn’t pass up on playing this despite rarely ever playing fangames. Very fun and unique take on its mechanics, and think should be proud of it. My only real complaints (which I hope will be taken lightly) are that I too had some trouble with the controls, but likely due to conflicting muscle memory from Catherine. An auto-jump options toggle when making a directional input (or even perhaps like a double directional tap) toward a block 1 above you so that it works closer to Catherine think would have helped me, and the jump button would still have its own purpose (? Blocks/Bob-ombs). I also too found the shimmy controls a little confusing (especially in cases like when trying to make sense of whether you are standing on a block or hanging from a block in the background), but aren’t unworkable. A small nitpick was that blocks can fall a bit slow when spawning and can force small waits as otherwise you can beat them to the landing and, if do, can often result in unintentional deaths. Overall I enjoyed the puzzle design a lot and worth the play.
I'm thrilled whenever someone takes the time to try it out, and I appreciate the thought you put into the feedback! The shimmy controls do seem to be a sticking point, though the original Catherine controls where direction is relative to Vincent rather than the screen were giving some trouble in a 2D game. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to give more options in hopes that those who have and haven't played Catherine could find something comfortable for them. I'm planning on one final bug update + new costume before I put this down to work on future projects, but I'll keep it in mind! Hope you had fun!
