Overall I really liked this game. Props for thinking outside the box with “bloom”. I think the essence and ambiance of space was captured well. The music was very fitting too.

The controls felt pretty good - kind of like a twin stick shooter. Shooting was a bit repetitive before I realized I could upgrade my shot strength. Upgrades should probably pause the game or something when opening. It was also not apparent at first how to upgrade things other than energy, UI wise. That said, the upgrades in normal mode felt impactful and scaled well.

Physics wise, my main complaint was that the point where gravity started was very apparent and jarring. I would consider making the range as wide as possible, and letting it get exponentially weaker with distance. I believe Godot’s point gravity system has this ability built in. The space friction was also a little disappointing, because I was hoping to slingshot my rocks :)

UI wise, menus could be cleaned up, and a star indicator would be helpful. Surprisingly I lost it a lot, particularly in hard mode when I was really trying to scramble.

All in all this was a really great submission. I played it a few times. Nice work!

Thanks for the detailed feedback! These suggestions are very handy for the game feel, especially the UI and Star indicator. We thought it would be nice if the player always orbited the star, so they could just hold the down key to head towards it, but that probably isn't intuitive enough so we might try and improve that. Physics wise, I definitely get where you're coming from with the star and chunk friction. I actually increased the friction specifically for chunks to prevent the player from just slingshotting them into the star, because I thought getting close to the star was part of the challenge, but if it's more fun to also slingshot then we can definitely consider reducing that stopping force.

I'm very happy to hear all of these critiques, and we'll try and improve the game whenever we can. Thanks for checking out our game! :D
