Hmm, I wonder why. The first event with Malon (the tailor) will not appear unless you transform three times. For the second Malon event, you should complete the first Malon event and reach the 30th depth of the dungeon, and then you should be called at the tavern. As far as I can see from the code, there shouldn't be any bugs.
Clearing your browser's local storage will completely reset the game. The reset button within the game may load an older version. Alternatively, accessing the game from a different browser should load it as a new game.
