Holy. Fucking. Shit. This game is amazing, surpassed all expectations I had. I've played the whole thing so far including all of the Colosseum and all the side areas I could find (the demon lunch basement, sewers, Sarah's house etc), I just have to do purgatorio now, but this game had way more content than I expected and I am pleasantly surprised.

Only criticisms I have is that sometimes the dialogue is a bit heavy handed (and in Leah's case, a bit too much "ow the edge" but generally the way gayleviticus writes is reverent, fun, and potent, a definite highlight). And I think the EVAC charism is a bit too OP and removed a lot of stakes for me even on wrath mode and with sacrifice charms/ox goad. Otherwise I loved all the side quests, areas, world building (this was a highlight) NPC dialogue, spells/combat, WRATH, etc. (also the Amos and Micah scene at the end was perfect) Babylon is such a fantastic urban fantasy setting. Please cook again gayleviticus.

Two questions:

1. Any plans for a sequel? And any discord or similar where I can track any future projects of yours?

2. Any games or media you suggest to fill the Jubilee-shaped hole in my heart now? Maybe games you used as inspiration?

Again, fantastic job with Jubilee :)

Yes, that's very fair re the dialogue - I started making this game  like 6 years ago at this point and I shudder to think of rereading some of the dialogue haha. Evac is probably a bit too OP because I was terrified of the thought of someone getting stuck in a dungeon w low HP and being mathematically unable to escape therefore getting locked in an unwinnable state.

I assume from the questions that you were the one who sent me an Ask on Tumblr the other day (which I answered), but in any case for others viewing the answers are:

1. I have a sequel I've been chipping away at but in the more imminent future, I am contributing to another game called SMILE that will hopefully be out by the end of the year - I've done the battle mechanics entirely myself and contributed some story notes and designed some early areas, but otherwise it's mostly not my work. I might consider releasing a demo with what I have so far for Jubilee 2 but it's definitely on the back burner for now.

To be honest, my current concept for the game has been cooking for so long I'm considering just starting from scratch with something else. I have a couple ideas for Jubilee successors - the one in development hell is a sort of post-apocalyptic journey against a dying earth about a questionable messiah, but I've also got concepts for a science fiction roguelite(?) about the last survivors of humanity escaping genocide, an interactive fiction game based on Abraham's sacrifice of Isaac, and a sort of Buffy/Madoka-ish urban fantasy game about the stress of constant demon hunting on a small tight-knit group of friends. Too many ideas sadly.

2. I was inspired by SMT, Persona 5, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica Rebellion, and my sister said she felt Jubilee felt quite OFF-core (I haven't played so I can't confirm). End Roll is another RPG Maker game that might have influenced me actually.

Thank you again for playing!

Oh yes also, to answer the question about tracking projects - my only real public-facing social media is Tumblr but I pretty much never post about projects there. If I do release anything (even if unrelated to Jubilee) I'll make sure to post on the Jubilee page here on Itch.io though.
