I think I mentioned this in someone else's comment, but you can't challenge the mid-boss at depth 30 unless you complete the town events. In the next update, I plan to add a route that allows you to skip the events and challenge the mid-boss.

Oh. I've not even gotten to the point where I can do that I think. I kinda roleplayed this as the dude at the start, trying to stay as pure and untransformed as possible, so I'm mostly male still.
