a dead-fish eyed yan character with unsolved mystery of (possibly) the dead telling no tales where the mc lived in a dreary, crummy environment just trying to survive another day in the unknown horror among neighbors? count me in! all of it wrapped through chapter 1 already set up a creepy dark and compelling story.
