Thank you so much for your positive review!!!
I checked out your other reviews on other wonderful titles, they are really constructive and full of helpful notes for the devs and I am honored that you rated our game this high, it means so much to me, so thank you again <3
I love your videos, they are EXTREMLY unique! I only really see gameplays of the game as first impressions, which I love of course, but your format was super interesting, too! Regarding the cult stuff that was metioned at the end of the game, which you have stated was one of the few things you found bizzare or down right not good, I have something to say that I have not yet mentioned.
Play Things was actually not suppoused to be released BEFORE a certain project, that is going to be out after the Endless Mode update. This project, now almost completly finished in development, has been worked on for pretty much 3 years and it is MUCH larger than Play Things.
I am not really trying to hide the fact that our media (that of Burning Eye) is all part of the same universe. What I am trying to hide is what, why, where and how, and It's really fun to see people try to discover it. What does that have to do with the cult? Well, let me say this: Burning Eye as a whole is currently at a timeframe, where there are two important factors going on in the background of each game / series we make. One of which, is the Mekoro cult.
This game has not really shown anything of what the cult is, as that is explained in MUCH greater detail in this other project. The reason Play Things did end up releasing before "The Project", is because it is a much simpler game, and I wanted to have something out after Dawn At Laywood. (Which is also part of the universe, of course)
I really hope that we can expand on this, as the whole lore of this has been worked on for several years, and it is now going to be displayed through media, mostly video games, such as Play Things. This is only the beggining of what we want to make, and I am so glad that we have had such a positive start, with people like you, giving us the support we need to have a reason to continue.
Your channel and your reviews give developers and overal creators like me so much happiness, it is indescribable. I get a strong hit of happiness from every positive comment we get. I hope you know just how much good you are spreading, when showing these positive messages to aspiring creators on this platform, I can't of course speak for everyone, but your constructive criticism, is pretty much a core pillar of why our future looks bright. Thank you for this, and I hope that you have a wonderful life and a I wish your youtube channel a lot of deserved growth! <3
Well, I would like constructive criticism to be treated as criticism, not as an attempt to humiliate the project or the author. Because I have seen people who are truly offended when I find bugs in their games, although I just wanted to help fix them, oh well.
And about the large-scale story - even this one was quite a long one for me to work on (mostly because I described the experiment with each doll in detail, but even so it has a good length, I played it for more than 4 hours), and if there is an EVEN longer project, then I will definitely be interested. Of course, then I will have to try hard with the review, but considering the impressions I got from this game, it will definitely be interesting. I will also watch Dawn at Laywood, this project passed me by earlier, but now there is a chance to see it. So I will do a review on it, perhaps. And when you finally release "PROJECT", then on him too. After all, well-thought-out plots are hard to find now, you need to appreciate this opportunity
I can say with certainty, that you will not like Dawn at Laywood. I should probably remake that game. It is full of bugs and it is not as polished or fun as our new projects.
"PROJECT" is also much more stereotypical horror game in terms of gameplay, or at least ½ of it is... must be confusing now, but I don't want to say anything about this project, yet.
Thank you for your thoughtful replies / comments by the way, always interesting to see what people have to say about the projects and the state of indie games.
People do get offended when you find bugs, but I'd say that it's mostly frustration, at least for the couple of hours. Especially if the bug is a major concern, but your reviews are very much on the positive sides. You can state the good even in the "bad", which is nice. As it is pretty easy to talk trash about games you simply find unflattering :P
Well, about Dawn at Laywood. Even if I don't like it, I'll at least point out what exactly I didn't like and find bugs, if there are any. And I won't say anything about the future project, maybe I'll like it, after all, I've seen more than one hundred horrors in my career. And criticism - some people are offended not for a short time, but for a long time. I won't point a finger, but it's a rather strange reaction, considering that I simply pointed out the bugs without any insults to the game. Let's say this, I won't even review games that I really didn't like - it's enough for me to rate them on my streams
