To distinguish between controls (e.g. go forward, turn left) you have to time the length of your inputs (like Morse code) -- use the Input Levels graphic on the "motherboard" to get your timing right. To go forward you just hold down the button/key for a long time to "power the (default) circuit" (go forward). Activating "turn left logic" is done by holding down the button/key for a "medium" then "short" amount of time (with just a little delay in between) then hold down the button to "power the circuit" (i.e. continue turning left).
