well, a ‘genre fakeout’ would be more along the lines of ‘telling people that this is a cool cutesey adventure in space with these cute characters but then things suddenly take a turn for the worse in-game’ imho (after all, if you go into something expecting a horror game and then being given a horror game, as is the case in your game which was advertised as being a horror game, that isn’t a fakeout).
but honestly, don’t sell yourself short on the artwork, you made some pretty nice visuals.
