Yeah, this is because you have saved during a fight. Don't know how you did that to be honest as it should be disabled, but maybe an autosave happened just as you entered the fight (these happen every 30 seconds). I can rollback your save a little if you want to play it through, but I recommend playing a new run. I don't recommend dying during a fight before the one with the twins as it may happen again.
