If you have the cash to buy the patreon version that's obviously the best way, since it supports the creator. That said, you can always save edit: Make a game, save, open the save directory and edit the text file for your save. You can do things like change your stats, your food/money, your skill/spell points, etc. It's essentially like having the option for a "story/fap" difficulty option.
It looks like it's $3/month for the cheapest version, which gives access to the patron build monthly, or $5/month for weekly build access.
