We started the ideas as puzzle. But it turns out it's very hard to create interesting and understandable puzzles around this mechanic. So we adapt the idea mid development. It's simple, deep and intuitive enough to be usable as a "sidekick" mechaninc. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to incentivize its use. But we're coming up with more ideas while watching playtest and feedback like yours! Thanks a lot for your help.
