Regarding the use of tokens to heal all damage, you are partially right — but, in short, it only works when you can get the right equipment or become more powerful. Tokens are limited to five, HP are limited to five, but many weapons can deal five or more damage. In that case, if you want to save your character, you have to use a token to take the “rescue from death” option, hoping the party will survive. Moreover, a tanking strategy hinders your character’s growth because you have to save many tokens just to stay alive. I could agree that, in a horror setting, the healing option could be limited — if you try it, let me know.
As for weapon damage, you are right — it is related to weapons like bows, crossbows, and others of that kind.
I am currently playing H5, and it works perfectly for both beginners and experienced players. Recently, I played it in a fantasy setting, and many D&D players (but not only them) were amazed by its immediacy.
