Congratulations on this good game. The main concept is clever and impressive. It gives you the freedom to explore and play around in each level, which is a feeling I love. The cloning mechanic allows you to pull off a lot of tricky movements and jumps. Shoutout to that. Nice work.

Here are some points I noticed while playing the game:

  • There’s some game design inconsistency. For example, in the tutorial, you clearly can’t pass through walls, which is a rule you set. This is called a game metaphor. But in the second level, you broke that rule when the only way to finish the level was by going through the walls.

  • The jittery sprite for both the walls and the player while moving can feel a bit unpleasant.

  • The music loop might work better if it were a bit longer.

Again, great work. I’d be happy to see more of the game.

 Concept & Gameplay

I'm really happy you enjoyed the core idea and the freedom it gives to explore! That feeling of pulling off tricky jumps with your past self was something I really aimed for — super cool to hear that it came through for you.

Design Inconsistency (Walls Issue)

You're absolutely right about the metaphor break. In Level 1 I taught "you can't walk through walls", and then in Level 2... surprise, you have to. That's 100% on me  — a post-jam update will definitely address that with better onboarding or visual hints that something is different there.

 Visual/Technical Issues

  • Jittery sprites: Yep, this is something I noticed too during late testing but didn’t have time to fix. I’ll polish the movement + camera smoothing post-jam.

  • Short music loop: Totally fair — I went with a simple loop due to time, but agree it gets repetitive fast. A longer or layered loop would make a big difference.

Takeaway

Thank you again for playing and writing such a thoughtful comment. I’m planning to expand the game, and feedback like yours is super valuable in making it better. Hope you'll check out future versions too!
