Interesting jam entry for sure! I liked the general premise, but I think I wish the difficulty ramped up faster. I took a single hit prior to Cycle 11, then suddenly was dead midway through Cycle 13 (still not really sure what got me - probably one of those green enemies). Either way, I came here initially for the atmosphere, and the game didn't disappoint - nice work overall! :)

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I definitely spent most of the jam getting the atmosphere where I wanted it, then had to rush to figure out difficulty scaling, etc. and agree it could pick up faster. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!!

I really like that you managed to write something to autogenerate levels for your game in the timeframe of a gamejam, very cool.

Developer

Thank you! Nothing too fancy, just some noise for a terrain heightmap applied to a big old subdivided mesh and then kind of "stamping" a looping path into it. But yes I did spend too much time on that part haha. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!

Hi! Is there an ending? I must know! And what do green creatures do?

Nice game! Liked the atmosphere and sound design - everything is just right!

Thanks for playing ! There is an ending, if you reach Cycle 25. I'm yet to hear from anyone who has reached it. The green creatures can teleport and generate a growing orb that does a high amount of damage - you need to keep a large distance from them and use your neutralizers to eliminate them as quickly as possible. Appreciate the feedback.

super interesting i loved the designs of the little alien guys, felt very half lifey vibe I didn't understand why i got neurtralisers but they were cool

the movement felt amazing, and it looked like I was running around on choco mountain so thumbs up from me

Developer

Thanks! I spent a bunch of time polishing the movement so appreciate the feedback.

The sound fits the game’s aesthetic really well, I think you nailed it! The controller also feels pretty good to use.

Developer

Thank you!

Brooo this looked like a legit entry from the very first screenshot, and delivered outstandingly! This is a superb application of the 'loop' concept. Not only that but it's also very fun to play. I'd love to see it make it to the top entries! My personal best was cycle 12.

As some sort of feedback for a final polished product:

What about making the neutralizer packs be automatically picked up when stepping on them? Also the shooting mechanic could be polished for better precision, or make the explosions have a greater radius. I also thought of a blocking mechanic as to make the projectiles bounce back to the enemies, so you can have a bit of a more aggressive playstyle without giving you more ammo. Just some random thoughts though.

Keep it up bro, you have great talent!

Thank you!! Love the idea of blocking, would definitely add depth to the gameplay. Appreciate the other thoughts, too - most of this I wanted to implement as polish but unfortunately time was short! Appreciate it, thanks!
