First thing, great work with the visuals, the look of the game conveyed in the icon compelled me to click on it right away, and I felt that carry through into the game itself. The cars are cute and the overall pixel-y aesthetic is nice.
Maybe it's not vital for every jam game, and not a huge priority in general, but since you're constantly getting chased down by cops in this game, I found myself wanting to pause pretty often! Purely as a player it's not critical, but I think since I'm actually thinking of feedback during the game, I kept trying to pause in order to jot some thoughts down, but didn't want to get caught lol. So hopefully I haven't forgotten any of the thoughts I had.
A few more pieces of feedback:
- Really enjoyed the intro and some of the humor in it.
- I definitely would have liked to be able to skip the dialogue on subsequent attempts though! I was ready to hop right into another attempt, and had to let the dialogue play through.
- I think the driving is really unique, and had me really thinking of how to do it well. Definitely isn't boring! With that, though, especially in such a short game where I only play for a handful of minutes, it does lead to a majority of my time feeling like I'm fumbling with the controls, and sometimes in a frustrating way.
- I thought the angle of the camera took some getting used to, but it added a fun element since I couldn't see too far out in front of me; sometimes the cop cars startled me when they came into view lol.
- Curbs were pretty rough; it definitely contributed to the awkward, unique feel of the driving, but more often I didn't love how it totally stopped me in my tracks. I eventually learned to give up on them and just keep circling around the roads.
- I slowly got to around 7 deliveries, and then the music stopped! I kinda interpreted that as "I won" haha, since I don't feel that was intended.
- Speaking of which, good job to your brother on the music!
Thanks for making this, I had a nice time playing. Hope the feedback is helpful. Great job!
