The visuals of this game are incredible, using real objects gives it a really unique texture you don't often find in games and it was 100% worth it.  I really love the instruction manual in particular, and the framing of the game being on a TV with a real remote is fantastic.

The first room is actually really difficult, I had to consult the gameplay gifs to realize learn how I needed to progress.  I think I would make the first puzzle needing to reposition a box to get up on a ledge.  Launching the player character is a pretty tricky maneuver for the first screen, and having a box would make what you need to do a little more obvious.

I think the single thing that would improve this game most is adding sound effects. Your visual presentation is top notch, now you need some audio.  For you next game I'd like to challenge you to try to get sound effects in early even if they're just placeholder beeps and will be replaced later.  As you're making a feature if you feel like eventually a sound would go here throw a generic sound in asap.  Sound is the biggest bang for your buck when it comes to game feel and is the one thing that will improve how fun your game is the most.  A generic sound that isn't perfect is often better than no sound at all, and adding placeholder sounds to be replaced later is much easier to do than trying to totally go back and do all sound implementation at once.

Wonderful job I can't wait to see more!

Thanks a lot for the carefully thought out, extremely useful feedback! Having some generic sounds ready to go as preparation for the jam is an INCREDIBLE idea that would have given us at least a place to start and we will totally do that in the future.

As for the puzzles, they're just in the order that I thought of them as proof-of-concept for the mechanics, and being so inexperienced, I spent so much time just putting them together piece by piece that by the time we had only a measly 5 puzzles it was pretty much submission time. Definitely at least reordering them might have been worth the extra little bit of time, and certainly in an ideal world we'd also have some levels that deconstruct the puzzles we have currently and build up to them.

Thanks again for giving it such a thoughtful response and even just your time playing it!
