What happens if you don't eat a ration everyday? You can't heal when you rest??
Official starvation rules (finally) to use or discard at your preference:
A “ration” is not meant to be realistic but a gamified measure of food + water.
It is assumed the adventuring PC is already portioning these to last as long as possible.
Foraging rations assumes both food and/or a source of hydration (spring, moisture rich root or plant etc)
PCs can go 3 days without rations +/- 1 for each point of TOU.
Following this, PCs enter “starvation mode”.
Each day without rations, PC cannot heal as normal and must make a TOU check with a negative modifier equal to the amount of days in starvation mode.
Failure results in a loss of 2HP, and a -1 to all stats, which lasts until rations can be obtained.
Each day the roll is failed, this penalty is applied again, with negative modifiers from days in starvation and any further penalties for failed rolls stacking.
Ill-equipped journeys into the harsh environs of Kal-Arath are not wise.
