Seeing a game with a similar concept to ours has certainly been fun. You've made a lot of different decisions compared to us and that in itself made the game just a bit more fun for me. Overall it was quite a satisfying, yet challenging experience.

Some of the design choices you've made are genuinely brilliant, and I wish we had though of them too, like a combo for catching many fish at once or a fish that intentionally messes with your net. That's not too say this is the only positive thing, far from it - the 3d work is quite impressive for such a short jam, the fish catching feels very rewarding thanks to the crispy visuals and sound, granting immediate gratification, and the sound design felt very on point and again, led to more satisfaction from the game.

However if you guys would allow me, I would also like to provide a bit of constructive feedback. This isn't to say the game isn't good (far from it), but these few points would elevate the experience to the next level. I would have really appreciated a fuel gauge to know when the day ended and I wish the hitboxes of the fish were communicated a bit clearer. I often found myself in situations thinking I'd make an easy catch, only to see the line break in a spot I didn't expect. Also I know you probably ran out of time, but some kind of a reward or an ending for killing the kraken would be nice.

All in all this was a nice satisfying game, with great visuals and fitting sound design, that I'd gladly play for longer if it was possible. Thank you for finding us and showing us your game, to see a different idea for the concept and I hope you don't mind me nit-picking a few minor downsides in hopes your next games are even better. I'd also appreciate if you could tell me who your lead designer was, so I can follow them and check your game out next year 😉.

Hi Tymon, first of all thank you so much for the nice words and the really elaborated feedback :)
Most of the development team is working for the same company and we are teaming up for game jams regularly. I would love to connect to have a further conversation about the fundamental concept we are sharing for our games.
