This was really arresting, both in visuals and prose. There's such a vivid and uncomfortable specificity to April's thoughts and dreams that I caught myself holding my breath more than once while reading. She's a character I'll be turning over in my head for some time.
I also want to shout out the ending. The understated, casual nature of the presentation makes it so so uncomfortable. I had to take a break from my list of jam games for the night just to spend more time thinking about it. Really impressive stuff
