This is such a cool concept! Great creativity

It reminds me of games like Beat Saber or Geometry dash where you can use the rhythm of the music to your advantage to anticipate the game, but this is better.

One thing that frustrated me is that the longer you took on a level the more was music falling behind everything else (the world obstacles and the midi board). Perhaps there is a extremely small delay in the loop that accumulates over time.

One thing I would maybe like more is to keep one beat/song for longer, because just as I got used to the beat and associated sounds with the colors I beat the level and I had to re-learn the associations again. And what felt really good was being able to (almost without thinking) predict the platform appearing/disappearing, and this cruising is what I think could make this game amazing.

Anyways, exceptional work!

It’s definitely possible there is a small time leak, can I ask how long you were on the level for? It should stay perfectly synced to at least one track but the others could potentially get desynced.

I already know how I could enforce that if I could push a fix heh.

The way we originally planned it was there would be one base track, and then we’d layer two more, then it would go to a new base track and repeat for 6 levels.

Unfortunately we just didn’t have enough tracks that worked well like that. But I feel you. The goal is to really get into the beat and just “feel” it – but it’s hard to do that in the current game.

Thanks for the feedback!

It was level 6 I think?

this one:

I am not as good with platforms, so I was definitely there for a while though (probably 5 minutes). Played on Firefox.
