I enjoyed watching the cute enemies being damned to rot in the desert and then got jumpscared by a big one. Not very cute. But definitely a very interesting concept and I have some feedback I'd like to share:

New Bugs:

  • Cursor can exit at the side of screen in a multi-screen setup which causes camera rotation to jump, confining cursor to screen should prevent that
  • A flatbed which I added at the end of my train from a "saved for later" selection died and all other carriages except the main one with it
  • Plants that spawned on the rail tracks can't be overrun and kicked away :c
  • (Many turrets of the same type firing at once sound awful and might overload, maybe playing sound only once per turret type even when multiple are firing could help)

Suggestions:

  • Exploding carriage could damage nearby enemies
  • Menu for upgrades could show up earlier as driving in is slow and takes some time
  • Prevent similar options from the selection like small heal and big heal, maybe rather have three "slots" that are randomized one slot for types of heals, one for types of weapons, one for types of carriages
  • Descriptions on what the different elements do within the game
  • Scrolling for zoom and clicking the train segment or A/D to switch between them maybe
  • Big Bossfight in the middle of the map maybe after certain amount of rounds to up the stakes and make guns in the back of the train more useful as they seem unable to help defend the front anyway
  • More interactivity while driving with e.g. money being dropped from enemies which could be used to buy temporary upgrades
  • I thought the "saved for later" would mean that I could still pick smth else next round but when I was in the station and had new options and then wanted to first build my saved for later carriage to then build a newly selected weapon on top the menu already closed and the train moved on

I had fun playing it, thank you for making Ouroboros Engine!
