Very unique and nice mechanic of the knots! Might be nice to have some more guidance when drawing on how to draw the first couple of 3-8 knots. I did find a way to break it by doing a big circle with a long end that I just "stitch over" at the end.
If I'm picturing what you're describing right, that's actually intended behavior ;p, it's basically what all of the odd number knots Phoebe shows you are, just expanded versions
