Great style. I just don't understand the UX. The rotation around the trunk was not immediately intuitive, but I got over that. Not having a soul counter or a bar to fill out for the bananas until sacrifice feels like a an easy add.

But the biggest gripe I have about this game. Is this a coconut or a banana tree? How can a tree have two kinds of fruit? It's like telling me sausages, ham, bacon, and pork chop all come from the same animal!!

Have you ever seen a blue monkey climbing a 200-meter palm tree? Haha.

But seriously, thanks a lot for the suggestions! About the soul counter, I actually like the idea of showing it more subtly with the graves. As for the bar for the next sacrifice, I just felt it would be unnecessary extra information, since in the end you’ll end up eating all the bananas anyway.

And about the palm tree… I won’t lie, I did think about it, but I decided to prioritize gameplay over consistency. Or do you think it’d be better to collect bananas while dodging… even more bananas? ;)

Ah, I noticed the graves, but I couldn't figure out my current souls.
I enjoyed it a lot, in case the comments make me sound too negative.

Not at all, I really appreciate all kinds of opinions! I’m only 16 and have been in the game development world for less than a year, so any kind of feedback will help me improve.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment <3

I hate when people tell me their age and I feel so old j/k j/k.
This is seriously impressive.

Read. Even non-gaming stuff. Malcolm Gladwell, Drive - book about motivation. Atomic Habits and bunch of other pop psych stuff about psychology. You never know where you might find interesting ideas, approaches, or philosophies to apply in your games.

Shoot, you've only been making games for a year!? This is worlds ahead of the games I was making at that experience. I see even greater games in your future! 🔮
