  • This was a tricky one to go through, because of the rulings on content (especially suicide), and the flow of the game itself. To be clear, I did not find anything that was clearly suicide in the short time I played (unless you count the girl in the wedding dress, but that felt more like a homicide). This does bring me to my second point, that the story feels very disconnected, and that I felt like I had no clue what was going on. I feel that, while that is a good narrative tool, it can be a little jarring in the wrong way as well. Moving on to the Game Design Document, this too was jarring, though not in a way that matters. The content was there, and if it works in that format for you, don’t worry about it. However, having the Devlog be the planning section might make it harder to create a long-term plan. Instead, I would suggest a separate section for the devlog alongside the due dates for when things need to be done by to stay on track. All in all, well done, this was a emotional experience for me that I shall not soon forget.

Summarize your game!
The game is text based narrative story with only a single goal and that is to wake up.

As the scene is presented you pick an option how you will respond and what will you do.

controls: Mouse

And I may have not balanced audio perfectly, so please try to boost up your volume so you can hear typing.
Also i recommend slightly turning the music down
if you are playing on windows and have scaling of the display increased it tends to create a black border around. the game runs in native 1280x720px

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
There is only one ending, only one option and that is to wake up

Very nice story. It felt like the old horror games i used to play back when dialog meant something.

Streamed my review live on twitch

Dont see text adventures much these days!

A very fun text adventure game with great writing! Im not entirely familiar with the religion present in the game, so no idea if its based on anything real, but it was very cool. And some of the artistic techniques present are really good. loved the 2d pixelart dithering! Timed scenes in text adventure are really cool too, i wouldnt call them tense necessarily, but they add to the immersion for sure. Maybe if the decisions in those didnt reset the timer (like grabbing shoes and a cane) the decisions would be more tense. Great work!

Awesome horror game! I wish there was more sound variation. It definitely seems like you put a lot of time into this so great job! I enjoyed backtracking and going over each of my options to find different results at different times. Very impressive!

Artistic. Disturbing) I wasn't durable enough to wake up =(

Consider changing text colour for the options the player had chosen previously (within the current morning). That would prevent accidental backtracking.

Wow, i loved how you made a text based psychological experience, to be so strong on the visual aspect. Also, incredible work with the UI, very intuitive, and the settings especially. Allowing us to control speed of typing, and separate sounds. Great work my friend.

Dark, Disturbing... delightful haha. I found myself continually cycling through options, and each time, there was something new and engaging. Great work!

thanks, is there any part that spoke to you loudest? be it narratively or via imagery?

I think imagery caught my eye most and relay liked the use of a timer bar to drive urgency.
