It's probably a mod conflict. Check the log or press the ~ key when it freezes and see what mod is shown in red with "unable to load..."
I had an issue with: Ethanol Plant (modhub), Corn Dryer (itch), Anhydrous NH3 Add-on (itch)
You need to disable the mods for the map or remove them all together.
