Yeah, that would be fun. I always believe that this game would give people the courage and the spirit to make their own versions of it.

Pokémon mystery dungeon. The main character can be a human that was turned into a ditto.
Or you could do a Digimon version of this game
You could just also do like fan made Pokémon games like Pokémon URANIUM VERSION and Pokémon kaskade
I'd probably start with some well known fangames like Infinite Fusion or Insurgence.
