Thanks for telling me! I really appreciate it. I will look into the issue and try to fix it as soon as possible. The newest demo will be out on Steam for free on 1st August, so hopefully it can be played there.

No problem ! I know visibility is important for games. It can be the difference about its popularity. It's great you're looking into the bug, I hope it will all work out (1st August sounds like a perfect date but don't worry if it does not work it's in such a short time >< !) ~.

After looking into the issue, I think it might be an itchio thing. I can run the game on my macbook.

Troubleshooting:

  • If a popup says that apple "could not verify" the game, you can use this official apple guide to get past it: https://support.apple.com/en-us/102445#openanyway
  • You can also try this if it says the app "can't be opened": right click on the App file and click "show packaged contents" then "MacOs" then clicking the exec file. "Show packaged contents" shows the proper game directory and internal files. You can also try right-clicking and choosing "Open" on the ".app" file rather than just double clicking.
  • If that's not the issue, try using the itchio app version to install the game: https://itch.io/app  itchio says "Many operating systems can make it challenging to run games downloaded from the internet through your browser. The app tries to smooth out all those issues."
  • It may be an issue with MacOS. Games should work better if they aren't in the all zip format, or are launched by another application (like Steam or itch.io app version)

If these don't work, let me know and I will try to change the code and re-upload. Please tell me if there is a specific error message that pops up, or any other info, to help find the issue. It should work better on Steam automatically because Steam seems to do some extra code-signing processes! I got this by searching online, I'm kind of clueless since it's my first serious game. Hope it works :)

It's definitely not the first two points, I promise I know how to bypass them xD !

The itch app (I have to say I had no idea it even existed) works. It's a pain since when you decide to click on launch in the app it doesn't work, you have to actually go to the place where you downloaded the game, to click on the icon of the game and then for like 15 times click on the "accept to authorize the game to acceed to...." place where you decided to put the game. Then it finally launch !!!

I'm tired ah, ah, ah. I hope it can help people facing the same problem.

I'll try the demo 1st August on itch.io, on the itch app and on Steam and tell which one is better. I did not try Steam this time but it seems easier than the itch app (not having to click 15 times on an authorization). But I'll try and tell you later !
