Wouldn't education be a way to "fight ignorance"?

Being ignorant doesn't just mean not knowing how to read or write, it means not being able to understand certain situations and believing you're right when you're not... you continue with thoughts that are completely wrong, your answer about education may have its value, but here it's not about understanding what 2 + 2 is... but trying to understand other things... like freedom of expression, freedom to be able to create...
