Ignoring all my anger, Itch.io did one thing well (NSFW situation)

People have been trying to denounce the role of Collective Shout for weeks, even longer. This group has been under the radar till now, and if I'm not wrong even a recent article about them has been deleted.

Itch.io in their statement named them directly. They are now on twt lockdown and on the radar of every person interested in games or even censorship. A Japanese politician (/zkurishi, apologies I've been writing this on phone and could not translate the full name so this is their account) is collecting information about them, publishers are offering a hand to publish BL games (jast blue) etc.

One media outlet had published a piece about them a while ago, and later removed the piece and fired the writer.

The article even got removed from The Wayback Machine (you can note on the PCGamer article that it mentions the article can still be found there, but that's no longer the case anymore).

I don't know how or why this small group has this kind of power, but it all looks fishy as hell.

Yes that's the one! I had no idea they have been fired, that's absolutely wild.

I wonder what kind of funds they have. They seem connected to Christian extremists.

apparently that can be real collective shout has direct funding from visa(allegedly)

I understand they have some serious funding behind them. Largely from some Christian groups but also from a few other sources.

They should also directly name the payment processors - VISA and MasterCard

And they seem to be in a power grab of sorts, because it's not about just this censorship of video games.

The USA government, likely lobbied by them, is launching probes to "investigate unfair trade practices" in alternative payment methods of another country just this month too.

They are a cartel and want to solidify their stranglehold on the globalized economy.

They ultimately want every monetary transaction in the world to go through them, every piece of information about who purchases what when, every decision about what can or can't be sold. It's a corporation cartel acting like an imperialist country.

I feel extremely betrayed that itch caved, but I think they intentionally laid what was going on out there to make sure we could go to the root of the problem and stop the censorship. I have no words to describe how wrong all the banning of games is though. There are many REAL important issues out there in the world to make a REAL difference and actually help people and improve people's lives. Censorship in gaming just isn't it...

I personally think they did the opposite by diverting attention to a scapegoat. Do you honestly think that a cabal with a market cap of over a trillion rolled on a dime for a group feminist evangelicals? Note how people are arguing whether Collective Shout is right leaning or left leaning.
