Here's my feedback. I submitted too.
- Visuals: The use of Pixel platformer packs are consistent. The level style makes total sense with the game's theme. Running from the sun was funny.
- Mechanics: Platforms are not easy to make. The snowman's jump is floaty at times and then have to be super-precise at other times. Tweaking needed.
Recommendations:
- Look into recent indie platformers to see how they have breathing room to be off by a pixel or two. Also the jump is not as consistent. Instead adjust it to button press reaction time. For example a quick press of the spacebar means a small jump. Pressing the spacebar firmly then releasing means a large jump. Mario games have a level-of-sensitivity when pressing vs holding vs hold then release vs long hold for different jump heights and length.
- Some parts of the level are too unforgiving. The four springs back-to-back feels awful after barely missing one spring. Then there's a spring with spikes to the right of it just before the flag---the spring catapulted me right into spikes, multiple times.
