To be honest, I don't think all this will stand. I'm pretty sure Japan have already filed an anti-trust lawsuit, maybe something will come out of that? 

It's just all been handled poorly, even some heads up from itch themselves would have been nice. We've all just got to weather the storm right now :(

tbf japan situation is different then ours tho cuz their games of this types legaly sold in stores unless their content dosent go against law, in our case  most of games like this made by one guy  or small team of indies  and unfortunately they heavily tied up to their patreon/sub/kofi incomes too unlike japanese companies who make 18+ games. 

Of course, that's true.

But if Japan win their lawsuit, it will at least set some precedent that people aren't willing to just abide by the whims of these payment processors.

And, if we're lucky, maybe a few other counties will follow suit. Although that's unlikely for any country like the US or UK.

yeh US companies was ones who implemented this bs in the first place.
