I don't really like all the monetisation stuff, I started with donations but it does not work really well. So I prefer to put cheap prices on my games and host many sales, usually one per month (when I remember). It's probably not what I should be doing but I hate marketing and finance. Hence why I don't hesitate to publish small prototypes for free, to share stuff.

I just want to make games.

Like I should be promoting my games everywhere and all the time to make money to auto-finance all of that. But I just hate that.

Edit: also sometimes you just work like a demon on a game, and after a few months you realise nobody will ever care about it, or it was just crap all along. It's either I move on or I'm devastated.

mmm fair i get it its just ive always seen some of you games and always wondered why you never worked on it more but i do get it i just feel abit saddened as some of your games had alot of potential its just a huge shame

i mean id make games but i lack in coding and anyone can do map design i dont think model design would be to hard but in the end all dev engines require some knowledge of coding to make systems and other stuff

i did once start making games but lost my spark because of how hard i was pushing myself trying to learn it solo

while yes i should have went to a school or something or atleast picked up a book to teach me idk

i always had great ideas so thats why i try to pass my ideas to people who know what their doing

sure in the end its their game but ideas can help devs forge a better game its the main reason so many devs do take ideas in the first place

You should try Godot it's clearly more friendly and intuitive and it has visual coding too!

is it able to make good games or is it like fps maker

It's versatile and it's even available on Steam. You can make whatever you want, as long as it's scaled for a one-man army and you don't try fancy features like multiplayer, openworld, etc. Better wait to level up before trying these!

and theres a huge flaw because i always strive for greatness :( id be working on it then be like hey what if ahhhh :(

Greatness does not depend on the tool but the maker. Anyone can make great portraits with a pencil, a graphic monitor or a piece of coal UwU

fair

idk i tend to do much better with map designs tho i cant say ive ever had the full tool set like fences walls eta to make a full world sadly

I mean you could try to make a game around map design UwU The point of making games is being creative and offering new and weird and fun experiences!

i also struggled with art in real life i had to swap my art class in high school for drama class my teacher said i did well so oddly i guess im better at acting then i am are at art
