I think it's separate from that. When I went to the Subreddit for itch.io someone mentioned that there's a law going to effect in the UK requiring more gatekeeping on adult content.

By what I’ve been able to find, it’s not that the games are being deleted off the store they’re just not being able to search

I found a post on itch community on Reddit that can’t explains it from a user named “TheTurleBox”

As someone who does work (SFX and Music) for NSFW games, I can legitimately confirm no game l've worked on has been shadowbanned and that the only major change is that Devs can no longer release their NSFW games into front-paged tags, shit like no longer releasing a horror game with a huge gooning focus is no longer a thing. You can't release your FNAF inspired porn game directly into the horror tag with the argument "FNAF is a horror game and this is a FNAF fangame."
