hours in, this game has major possibilities. very well done game-play loop for a demo making me want to keep playing even though i normally dislike putting so much time in just demos. as a dev myself, i am curios of what game engine is used if any, what coding language its codded in, and wether or not a linux version is planned. although some game engines allow for you to easily export a project into mac windows and linux versions, some don't do it as well as others. i am already ready to drop 10-20 bucks on this, good work. i would cretiqe this, but it is only an itch demo so its hard to tell what is planned. one thing i can cretiqe rn is automation. the option to auto use attacks in the "fighting part" doesn't save weither or not you previosly had it selected. also i have hope that there will be a way to import demo saves to the full game. one final cretiqe is currently it is hard to tell where the game "ends". weither this is just cause of it being a demo or cause there isnt enough "push" to get you to keep going i am unshure, but for the full game i recomend teaching at the start that it may seem like the game is over but there is "hidden" things you can unlock by continuing, while keeping the stuff still "hidden" like how the unlocking researching felt, because that rewards players for being curios and also makes people more hooked on "finding out what comes next".
I'll try to answer each point you raised:
Thanks so much for the kind words, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. The save data WILL carry over to the Steam release by the way (wishlisting is available!), so make sure you do a backup! :)
HFI is made in Godot using GDScript - so there is a possibility for the game to be exported to more platforms. Right now though, my time is limited so I can't really afford to spend that extra time debugging more platforms. It does run great on the Steam Deck though via Proton. (Steam Deck is officially supported by the way) Never say never though!
I'm assuming you're referring to the Auto checkboxes on the Squire for skills - it would be helpful to save if they are checked or unchecked, thanks.
Regarding it being hard to tell when the demo is over, totally agree. This is a symptom of the demo not being fully complete. When Demo V2 comes out I'll make sure to make it very clear when you have cleared all the content.
Thanks again!
