Originally we had 3 options on the start menu so it was easier to see which option was highlighted, but as we ran out of time we removed the Settings option making the white text pop.
We are also noobs to Game Maker, and it took us a long time to understand how the Draw and Draw GUI event work, so we apologize for the frustration.
