Was the Android version abandoned?

No, the Android version is up to date. It's simply that the most recent updates have been patches for issues that were really only present on desktop. Updating the Android version with a new build would've changed nothing.
It should also be said that Benefitship is complete, so any updates are merely bug fixes or minor improvements.
