Idea:

to add a sense of progression, maybe have the Ingame app version of Tightly be developing the app during a players playthrough of the game, with the player doing modifications to reach different branches, like a tech tree (without grinding, players just need to get a modification to level 3 or 5 once to unlock the next part of the branches on that part of the tech tree, without needing to redo modifications they've already done).

in the future, my current plan is to have paths that will begin in the middle of other paths, not only at the very end

I want to try and have the game branch out in a lot of different places - instead of adding everything at the end of each path, to avoid that scenario of having to replay 5 paths to get to a specific one. 

That being said, I agree and like the idea of some item/unlockable to skip to a specific point if I have a bunch of paths branching out from there!!
