I tried to play a web version and was unable to do anything at all except switching gears. Settings menu seems to have ‘control’ section with two icons, but I do not understand what they do and selecting them does not seem to have any effect. I suggest putting control instructions on the game page.
here you can test with keyboards https://vmplay.itch.io/car-parking-game-webgl
Thanks, now I have played your game a bit.
Car models are very nice, you definitely have a talent for 3d modeling.
Few suggestions:
- Add more camera control, like zoom out, maybe hotkey for top-down view. The only difficulty I have encountered in the game is due to struggle with the camera.
- Maybe add FOV angle setting. I am sensitive to motion sickness, and had to stop playing after 10 levels due to nausea. This is typical situation for browser-based 3d games where you can not know screen parameters in advance, so a setting would be nice.
- When switching to reverse gear, camera sometimes, but not always, rotates by 180 degrees. Maybe make this behavior an option in settings.
- Maybe add a hotkey for gear switching
- Scene floor looks a bit basic, especially compared to highly realistic car models. Perhaps some simple textures would look better
- Keyboard controls work a bit unreliably. When car is stopped, single “forward” key press sometimes, but not always, sets it in motion. This forces player to press longer/more times than necessary, sometimes inadvertently over-accelerating.
- Possibly the game would benefit from some kind of challenge for a player. Currently the only reason player can lose level is impatience (or control problem described above). Perhaps add a timer, as in “get more stars for passing level faster”?
- Help says I must park in yellow zone, but I did not see such in a game, just a checkered line
- Active zone of previous/next page arrows in help does not match the visible area of the button
- Sound volume it very loud, so I had to mute it. Maybe add volume setting?
Overall, this is a good prototype, good luck in development!
