ug Reports, Suggestions & New Feature Requests

Hello, I’d like to report that with the latest version, released six days ago, there are anomalies severe enough to cause the game to crash unexpectedly—and in worst-case scenarios, freeze Jaws, which then repeats the last in-game command endlessly and cannot even be closed. The only forced resolution is to shut down the PC using its physical power button.

Additionally, the system for requesting and granting clearances works very rarely. Likewise, only on very few fortunate occasions does the game allow travel with all parameters correctly set—at most up to two stations beyond the starting point—before the issues described above occur.

While awaiting a swift restoration of smooth gameplay, I’d like to take the opportunity to suggest some additions aimed at significantly enhancing realism and immersive experience:

  • A Vehicle Editor (already mentioned)
  • Support for ERTMS Level 2 and future developments, now widely seen as the system enabling interconnection and interoperability of trains on European lines
  • Realistic features such as crossings with other ATO trains in service, waiting until the next track section, line track, or station track is free—either for stopping or transit
  • Platform priorities at stations
  • In the Route Editor, ability to specify the real number of platforms for any station instead of generic labels like “very small,” “small,” “medium,” or “large”
  • In-game or train-info card details indicating which platform a train will arrive at or depart from at any station
  • Disruptions such as line issues, level-crossing failures, or train breakdowns
  • Unauthorized persons near the tracks and maintenance or upgrade works with precautionary speed reductions
  • Audio effects of rails and switches both in open track and when entering/exiting stations
  • Integration of interior passenger carriage view, with sound effects for boarding, alighting, and ambient chatter during travel
  • Integration of announcements in the local language of the route’s country, and in English—automatically and customized by an AI within the game, without human involvement—to inform passengers about all aspects of the journey through a kind of “dialogue” between ground systems and onboard systems

I look forward to your feedback, hoping that these proposals might serve as a catalyst for the overall growth of this game.

Best regards.

Hello!
Thank you for reporting these issues. Oddly enough you appear to be the only one with such issues, I don't know why that could be, though I will look into that.

Also thank you for your ideas, I'll see what I can do.
Regards

Taurus Fan

Hello, first of all thanks for the prompt and detailed reply. As for me, I have decided to make public the mods I’m gradually creating for Italy’s transport system, since it seems there are currently no routes, vehicles, or safety and distancing systems available. Moreover, it must be considered that Italy is a construction site: a massive upgrade of existing lines is underway, new lines or variants of existing segments are being built, and there is a generational renewal of the regional fleet and, in the medium to long term, of the InterCity and InterCity Night fleet. My goal would be to bring the game up to date with these developments, integrating as many Italian lines as possible, along with vehicles—aiming to replicate the real sound as faithfully as possible—and distancing systems such as SCMT (Sistema di Controllo Marcia Treno) and ERTMS, with an eye… who knows… to trams and buses, fully embodying the globally intended meaning of the game’s title. Moving on to a concrete help for implementing my suggestions, I believe the train adaptivity and frequency in ATO mode should be parameterized according to two distinct criteria: whether the line is single or double track, quadrupled or even sextuplicated, with the possibility to add this box in the Route Editor, in addition to whether it is a railway or a metro, indicating in the latter case the average frequency of train passages. Therefore, in my opinion, all vehicles should be equipped with ATO mode to simulate crossings, but remain as they are from the player’s physical standpoint who actually drives the main train. Another small but intriguing optional feature would be to include different types of departure whistles emitted by the conductor, with intensity parameterized based on train delay and passenger boarding and alighting time, also including ticket inspections and onboard discussions intended as sources of delay—besides those I mentioned in the previous message—as they reflect the current railway reality. Finally, here is a link that exemplifies my idea of sound effects for rails and switches to implement in the simulator.

Hey, thanks, that sounds awesome, I'll look into recreating some Italian train protection systems as well. ETCS and ERTMS are already on my list.
